Musicians such as John Myung (Dream Theater) and Stuart Zender (Jamiroquai) are well-known enthusiasts of Ashdown effects pedals.

This model is John Myung's signature pedal.

He originally used an Ashdown ABM-600 as his head amp and loved Ashdown products.
The drive pedal was born to take the sound to the next level.
It was developed by Maddi, John and Ashdown, who have worked together for many years as Dream Theater technicians.

The six-string bass John plays in Dream Theater requires a very wide range, and a special circuit was needed to push it all successfully.
To achieve this, two drives with different characters were prepared, which could be used alone or together.

Drive 1 is a distortion that distorts while intensely enhancing overtones.
Drive 2 is a distortion that provides warm distortion with a strong push, especially in the low frequencies.

The power supply can be 9-18V, with the 18V version having a less compressive character.
It's fascinating to be able to select this area to your liking.

The VU meter is good for monitoring input and output and is very useful for adjusting gain.
There is also a built-in LED light here to identify when Drive 1 and 2 are on or off.

John himself is very happy with it and uses it both on recordings and in live shows.

Modern bassists are often responsible for a wide range, and I think there is great value in a product like this.

It has a DI out, which is supposed to be the backbone of the system.
